As soon as 2024 begins, the “price war” in the new energy vehicle market kicks off. Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y first announced price cuts, and then BYD’s Qin PLUS Glory Edition and Destroyer 05 Glory Edition were launched, with the price dropping by 20,000 yuan each, and the starting price dropping to 79,800 yuan. Immediately afterwards, new energy brands such as Changan Qiyuan, Nezha Automobile, and SAIC-GM-Wuling followed suit with price cuts, and the starting prices were concentrated to drop below 100,000 yuan. On February 28, BYD’s Han and Tang Glory Edition models were launched, and on the 29th, the Song PLUS Glory Edition and Seal DM-i Glory Edition were launched. Compared with the old models, the price reduction range was between 10,000 and 40,000 yuan. On March 3, XPeng Motors announced that all models of the G6 would have a limited-time discount of 20,000 yuan, and the discounted price started from 189,900 yuan.

In addition to the new energy vehicle market, the competition in the traditional fuel vehicle market is also very fierce. Major automakers have been introducing new models and continuously reducing prices to attract more consumers. In addition, as the auto market gradually becomes saturated, consumers have put forward higher requirements for the quality and service of automobiles. Therefore, automakers need to continuously improve product quality and service levels to meet consumers’ needs.

In the fierce market competition, some automakers may face elimination. According to industry insiders’ analysis, those automakers with substandard product quality, backward technology, and low service levels will find it difficult to gain a foothold in the market competition. In addition, as the market competition intensifies, the profit margins of automakers will also be squeezed. Therefore, automakers need to continuously improve production efficiency and reduce costs to improve their competitiveness.

In conclusion, in 2024, the competition in the Chinese auto market is intense, and the industry reshuffle accelerates. Major automakers need to continuously improve product quality and service levels to meet consumers’ needs. At the same time, automakers also need to continuously improve production efficiency and reduce costs to improve their competitiveness. Only in this way can they remain unbeaten in the intense market competition.
